If you're like a lot of people out there, you have this business idea or you've already started a side hustle and you want desperately to succeed. But you have no formal business background, so you struggle with all of those business-y types of things.
Like accounting, sales, and organization.
You know you want to succeed, so there's one goal. And it's one of the most important goals.
Using a progress log to focus your success
It's not a matter of when you start using a progress log. It's that you don't. And you need to. Like right now.
If you want to reach any goals–especially success–you need to be accountable. Not necessarily to anyone else but to yourself. When you use a progress log, you:
- identify goals for the week/month.
- celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small.
- identify your roadblocks and begin to recognize how to avoid them (or get past them).
- give yourself the opportunity to coach yourself.
- hold yourself accountable.
In A Cup of Content, we have “A Cup of Focus” available, a two-page worksheet our members can fill out each week to reflect, plan, and prioritize. It's not anything spectacular, but it doesn't have to be.
You just need to do it.
Those people who keep progress logs tend to achieve better results than those who don't. All you need to do is print one off and do it. Not hard, right?
How to hold yourself accountable for keeping a progress log
It's simple, really: time block. Pull out your calendar and schedule time into your calendar and call it “Progress log”. Then, promise yourself that you will not schedule over it. When those times come that you really have to cancel–don't cancel. Reschedule. The key, however, is to find the right time for you so you don't have to reschedule.

We'll share it with you. KISS–keep it simple, silly. (Because calling people stupid is, well, stupid.)
