Section 4 is in the house! Today we're going to tackle contact information across your online platforms.

Section 4: Contact Info

Our handy Contact Info Action Plan will come in handy here–be sure to download before you continue so you can follow along!

  1. Be consistent in your contact info–include your website, primary contact phone number, address, primary email (the email that gets checked on a regular basis). Run your business out of your home? Create a “Suite 2” for your home address. That's what I did! Mail still reaches you the same way. Don't have a business email? It's as easy as starting with mybusinessname@gmail.com. You have to start somewhere, right? (Note: Email Service Providers and LinkedIn Company pages won't allow personal email addresses! You'll need an official email like name@domain.com for them.)
  2. Identify where you are online. We've already made a list of all the places you might be online, so be sure to download the Contact Info Action Plan. As soon as you have double-checked your contact information on each platform, check it off the list. Of note: not all social media channels require all pieces of contact information, so don't be alarmed if you can't find everything to update.

It's really that simple! And while you're updating these online places, we've included a few bonus items to consider:

  1. Bonus #1: Sometimes it’s fun to change your website address on social media to a recent blog post. Just be sure to remember to switch it to a new blog post or back to your website's homepage within the next month. (Hint: Make a calendar reminder so you don't forget to change it!)
  2. Bonus #2: Test the contact form on your website. This helps clarify that you are receiving notifications when someone completes your website form. It might also be a good time to consider email automations. Email automations are “triggers”–when someone fills out your contact form, do they receive a thank you email? Make sure your automations do what you want. This is another awesome action item we cover in our monthly subscription to A Cup of Content!
  3. Bonus #3: Update your email signature. Get fancy-schmancy and throw your logo (that's clickable to your website, of course) and your social media platforms (also clickable) so that it's easy for someone to find your website or social media. We've also included these awesome Email Signature Files for you to plop into your email signature!

Won't it be awesome to get these things out of the way and consistent across all of your online platforms? What will be even better is having an official Branding Board or Style Guide to really make sure you're consistent across your designs, flyers, and much more.
